About Us
The New Leaders Initiative (NLI) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing educational programs and mentorship for minority youth. Our primary goal is to empower and equip black and brown students with the tools and skills needed to lead successful lives.
One of the core principles of NLI is the belief that every student has the potential to become a leader. We strive to create an environment where our students can flourish and exhibit leadership qualities in any setting or community. We want to ensure that the barriers of ethnicity or socioeconomic status do not hinder their ability to succeed.
NLI focuses on serving students from low-income families, as well as those who are simply seeking knowledge and guidance to contribute to their future. We understand the challenges that these students may face, and we are committed to providing them with the resources and support they need to overcome these obstacles.
Our organization offers a range of strategic programming designed to equip our students with the necessary skills for success. We believe in a "hands-on" approach, which is why we provide project-based programs that allow our students to gain practical experience and apply their learning to real-world scenarios. By doing so, we aim to provide a more realistic and immersive educational experience.
NLI's programs cover various areas of development, including higher education, financial literacy, entrepreneurship/career readiness, mental health, fine arts, and service. We believe in a holistic approach to education and personal growth, recognizing that success extends beyond academic achievements alone.
Through our educational programs and mentorship, NLI strives to foster a commitment to young people and promote their overall well-being. We believe that by empowering our students with knowledge, skills, and support, we can help them become leaders who positively impact their communities and create a brighter future for themselves and others.
Our Vision:
All students will be leaders equipped to flourish in any global community, no matter their ethnicity or their socioeconomic status.
Our Mission:
Our mission at NLI is to provide minority students specialized programs equipping them with the tools needed to be successful academically, financially, socially and emotionally.
